The Top Netflix Films About Las Vegas

My one and only wish since the turn of the millennium has been to subscribe to a service that will let me watch whatever I want, whenever I want it. Netflix has made this possible, but now I have to determine which shows are worth my time. As someone who has a passion for online gambling, it has become more challenging to select the greatest gambling films available on Netflix. So, I did what anyone would do when faced with too many possibilities: I searched Google for “Las Vegas movies on Netflix” and “Vegas movies on Netflix,” but neither result was particularly helpful.

Since most states in the US have legalized internet gambling, I’m sure many of you can relate to this situation. You should probably see a couple of movies set in Sin City to get a feel for the atmosphere there. Since I can’t be the only one going through this, I watched a bunch of different “gambling movies on Netflix” to see which ones were best, and here are my top picks for Netflix’s Las Vegas-themed offerings.

It’s important to remember that Netflix’s selection of movies and other programming varies greatly from state to state. On Friday, December 17, 2021, titles across the United States were surveyed to create this list.

Release Dates for Ocean’s 11, 12, and 13

December 7, 2001, Ocean’s Eleven

December 10, 2004: Ocean’s 12

The release date of Ocean’s Thirteen is June 8, 2007.

Breakdown:

In Ocean Eleven, the protagonist, Daniel Ocean, is a brilliant ex-con “implicated in over a dozen other confidence schemes and frauds” who is out for vengeance against his buddy and foe, Terry Benedict. To what end? To completely empty Benedict’s three Las Vegas casinos of their cash. Despite the presence of cutting-edge security equipment and trained security staff, the task remains challenging. The bright side is that Daniel has never done this before!

This is the premise of Ocean’s Eleven, the first film in what promises to be a thrilling action-packed trilogy.

Ocean visits his former associates in an attempt to pull off a mission impossible-style heist. Actors like Brad Pitt (Robert “Rusty” Ryan), Matt Damon (Linus Caldwell), and Bernie Mac (Frank Catton), among many others. They all bring something unique to the table, and together they can pull off a robbery that will leave Las Vegas in a state of shock.

On D-Day, Benedict’s casino empire will be hosting “the” largest athletic event in history. The heavily guarded vault could hold over $150 million in cash throughout the event. To shorten a long story short, they were able to completely destroy him and get away with the money.

Although Benedict isn’t the kind to give up lightly, he is stubborn. As he pursues them, the events that would later be known as Ocean’s Twelve begin to unfold. He tracks them down one by one, and if they don’t pay him back plus a substantial amount of “interest,” he threatens to have them executed. Daniel Ocean, the protagonist, devises a fresh plan to retrieve the stolen funds.

The plot of Ocean’s 13 takes place in Las Vegas, where the gang plans to bring down tycoon Willy Bank. Willy Bank’s betrayal of the gang in the last film makes for a compelling character arc. With the money they make by taking over Willy’s casino project, they are able to make significant investments throughout the Las Vegas Strip.

The Hangover premieres on Netflix on June 12, 2009.

Breakdown:

The Hollywood buddy comedy “The Hangover” made back its production budget and then some ($1.42 billion) on an initial expenditure of only $218 million. It set off a boom at Caesar’s Palace’s gaming establishment. Apparently hundreds of thousands of moviegoers visit the establishment each year to see the actual places utilized in the film and ask questions about the action, which was shot there.

Chickens, tigers, and Mike Tyson are common topics in these numerous inquiries. The suite where one of the funny scenes was shot is also a popular stop for tourists. There’s a particular section of the blackjack table where all the activity is, and we can’t let that go unmentioned. If you’re interested in giving blackjack a shot, you may play a few hands in a risk-free online environment right now.

The release date for Casino is November 22, 1995.

Breakdown:

Robert De Niro’s (Sam “Ace”) Casino, shot primarily on the seedy French Riviera, is what we like to call an anti-Bugsy; the Paradise Lost to Bugsy’s Creation Myth. Las Vegas is a mafia’s paradise: “It’s a morality carwash for wise guys.” A hooker, a gambler, and a mobster are handed the city and proceed to piss it away in an orgy of murder and cocaine.

Martin Scorsese romanticizes the extravagant and corrupt Vegas of the 1970s; his most evocative shot depicts the city’s landmark hotels and casinos being demolished to make way for Disney-themed doll castles dominated by America’s gaudy peasantry.

Imagine the 1970s meeting Las Vegas and you have this: sparkling, sickening, furious, and magnificent.

Release Date: March 8, 2008 Synopsis: 21 is a lot like blackjack.

Breakdown:

Since the actual title of the movie is “21,” the title “Like Blackjack” has been substituted. This one is based on the best-selling book “Bringing Down the House,” which is a fascinating account of Bill Kaplan’s life. What he does is put together a group of MIT students to work on a problem. The group plans to utilize statistical analysis and a carefully devised card counting mechanism to win money from casinos in Las Vegas. Kaplan ran the squad like a business, with strict policies for accepting new players, detailed plans for managing the team, intensive practices, and an elaborate system for keeping score and betting.

Kaplan carefully supervised everyone on the team to ensure the project ran smoothly. During their three months under Kaplan’s guidance, the nine players would visit several Las Vegas casinos, where they would bet twice as much as they had originally. The investors received a return of over 250% on their initial investment.

The film’s overarching theme is the effort of casinos (both physical and virtual) to combat card counters. Some land-based casinos have a zero-tolerance policy toward those who are caught counting cards due to the effectiveness of this method.

More than $1.4 billion has been made from The Hangover so far, and it shows no signs of slowing down, thanks in large part to the film’s famous cameos and the power of its funny storyline. From conversations I’ve had with friends over the past few weeks, I can tell you that this movie has sparked a lot of interest in taking a road trip to Sin City for a wild weekend of gambling and drinking.

The Thompson family’s adventure on the seas of Lake Mead, Cloe’s suburban hangout comedy, and the LeBeoufs’ kaleidoscope journey all have their own distinct tones and themes, showcasing different aspects of Las Vegas. The directors of Dealer prove that they have the raw talent to go far in the industry with their film, Dealer.
